Dining Pavilion & Gateway Gardens
In October 2015, the Greenwich Point Conservancy (GPC) celebrated the grand opening of the restored Old Barn and Gateway at Greenwich Point, featuring the beautiful new Gateway Gardens and the dedication of the Sue H. Baker Pavilion. The Old Barn, originally built in 1887, is the oldest surviving structure at Greenwich Point. The Sue H. Baker Pavilion boasts a spectacular 4,000-square-foot waterfront dining deck that will be enjoyed by the community for many years to come.
The restored Gateway includes the reconstruction of the stone pillar at the original gate to Greenwich Point, the stone foundation of the original Gate Lodge, and the century-old stone walls surrounding the Gateway area. Additionally, beautiful new gardens weave throughout the Gateway. The pillar, which features a plaque detailing the area's history, is adjacent to a new walkway that connects the Old Barn and the Innis Arden Cottage. This walkway is lined with commemorative stones engraved with the names and messages of residents who purchased them. The old municipal brick restroom building has been demolished and replaced by gardens. Besides enhancing the beauty of the area, the restored Gateway also provides a safe and efficient pickup and drop-off area for visitors to Greenwich Point.
