Chimes Building

The circa 1896 Chimes Building, will be dedicated as the Daniel J. Donahue Water Sports & Recreation Center.  We look forward to moving forward the repairs of this building, which will restore and preserve one of the most beautiful and unique late - 19th century buildings on the Connecticut shoreline.

The GPC renovations will include ADA compliant rest rooms, the refurbishment of the rare c1901 “Chimes” mechanism and bells, which are located in the upper portion of the Chimes tower and a new roof.

It will also include the creation of a water safety center in the base of the Chimes tower, that will further the mission of the Emily Catherine Fedorko Foundation, a partner in the project, to spread education, advocacy, and awareness of boating and water sports safety.
